From four spreadsheets to one operational view

When stock, orders and finance each live in a different file, “reporting” means copy-paste. Here is how we collapsed that into one panel without forcing a big-bang migration.

A manufacturing client tracked inventory in one spreadsheet, open orders in another, shipping status in a third and monthly revenue in a fourth. Monday morning meant four exports, four filters and a lot of VLOOKUP.

We did not replace everything overnight. We connected the systems that already had APIs or database access, normalised the overlapping fields and surfaced a single dashboard: what is in stock, what is committed, what left the warehouse this week.

Incremental beats heroic

Spreadsheets stayed as inputs where teams still needed freedom. The panel became the read model — the place leadership actually looked. Each integration removed one manual step; after six weeks the Monday ritual was “open the panel” instead of “rebuild the Monday sheet”.

If your data is scattered but your teams are busy, that is a normal starting point. The goal is not a perfect data warehouse on day one; it is one trustworthy screen that makes the scatter visible, then shrinking the scatter piece by piece.
